Climate Change Strategies for the Fabric Industry

Nic Goldsmith, FAIA LEED AP, Principal, FL Design Engineering Studio

Climate change adaption is our human response to the challenge of our changing climate. 40% of global resources go the built environment and a major contribution that the built environment can make to climate change adaption is making use of infrastructure that we already have. Renewing, replacing and adaptive reuse are all strategies which our industry can embrace to tackle our part in improving our planet, but they are also good new business opportunities to move our industry forward. This presentation will showcase some of these new opportunities and outline the issues that need to be addressed for a more sustainable future.
